Does anyone have any cheap diet recipe ideas?

katrina_luvsxoxo asked:

Does anyone have any cheap recipe ideas for a diet. I just had a baby in June and I’m working out at the gym, taking advocare products and dieting but I really have never eaten healthy so I’d love to have some cheap recipe ideas for things I can put in the fridge that are low on carbs and no fruits because I can’t have any sugars.

    Metabolism and Your Weight

I know you said low carbs but I made this really delicious easy pasta dish the other day. Just cut some cherry tomatoes in half, put a little bit of olive oil and salt and throw them in the oven (or even the toaster oven) for just a few minutes while the pasta cooks (don’t forget to salt the pasta water). When the pasta is ready add the roasted tomatoes, some feta cheese (which has 1/3 less fat than most hard cheese. and you’ll see you just need a real little bit to get the flavor) and some fresh cracked black (or medley of pepperocorns) pepper.

A healthy veggie dish that I just found the other day is like mashed zucchini. Steam or boil the zucchini until it’s soft. Slice a half to a whole red onion real thin and saute it on low to medium low until it’s all soft and caramelized. Cut the zucchini into chunks, add them to a bowl with the onions and mash up. Add a little salt (and a little olive oil if you think it needs it). It’s a great, yummy, healthy side dish.

well ,I cook for my mom a lot, and We can’t always afford the cream of the crop sort to speak. What I like to do to be healthy without breaking the bank is: I make a huge salad~~
I take romaine or any salad mix (which is wayyyy easier)
add veggies, lots of Veggies (you can get them pre-cut now but whole is cheaper)
And I try To add a protein (like chicken, you cant go wrong) that has been grilled or bakes on a broiling pan with the slits so all the fat drains away to the fat holder on the bottom.
You can either use a store bought, “Light” dressing…OR i do the healthy thing that is really cheap. make a vinaigrette (don’t be scared) they are really easy~
All you do is take a lemon or some kind of vinegar (just dont use white vinegar, white wine vinegar but not white vinegar~you use that for cleaning), some salt pepper even some garlic or ginger and whisk in some extra virgin olive oil. Put that on top of the salad and toss.
    Top with chicken.
I know it may seem like a lot but it is healthy and way cheaper than take out. I also like freeze the pre-made chicken. Bottle the vinaigrette( be sure to whisk before serving). and have the salad mix on standbye. The little prep goes a long way~Do it on a day when Grandma has the kids and on a baby blowout you’ll have time to parent without going nuts for some food.
Hope you like it!!! and CONGRATS!!!
P.S. On the vinaigrette try balsamic vinigar and ginger (dont buy the old sweet vinegar that costs a fortune, use that for deserts when you have a party- top old balsamic like 12-15 year age over fresh berries; it gets sweet and syrupy, but buy the cheap new stuff it tastes right in a dressing)

Negative Calorie Foods

The phrase, "negative calorie food", as highlighted in negative calorie diet programs and books, usually refers to foods that allegedly require more energy to digest than they contain. Since the process of digestion requires the use of calories for energy, sometimes the net amount of metabolizable energy available from a food is less than the gross number of calories contained in the food.
